Katina's Backstory...

How it began...

"'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.' The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than these.”  ~ Mark 12:30-31

This has been a motto Katina Wilkins tries to live by in her daily life. She is a first generation Greek American, raised in the Greek Orthodox church mainly by a single mother with her younger sister after her dad left when she was 9. Yes, just like her favorite movie, My Big Fat Greek Wedding, she took Greek lessons and was very active in her church’s Greek Dance team. She moved from California to Texas after graduating from UC Santa Barbara to pursue grad school at University of North Texas. Just before moving, she dedicated her life to Christ in an evangelical church her cousin’s attended, declaring Him Lord of her life.

During grad school, she met her husband, Mike, whom she married before completing her master's in industrial/organizational psychology. They recently celebrated their 25th anniversary. After grad school, she worked with several organizations to revamp their training departments to include measurements and then worked for a minister out of Louisiana in a ministry called Healthy Soul, where she revamped and created workbooks and materials to convey his message. During her time with Healthy Soul, she was baptized in her husband’s family’s lake by that pastor along with her husband, Mike. The bonus was that she was also pregnant with her first child.

Since becoming a mom of two girls, she has worked in various capacities that allowed her to spend lots of time raising her kids. She was a Mary Kay consultant for 20 years and a Norwex consultant for 7, a physical and virtual assistant, and a substitute teacher. The Lord led her to work in a preschool for 15 years, with the last 9 years as the Bible and Music teacher—one of her most favorite jobs. (And yes, these things overlap...she is not 100 years old!)

In her spare time, Katina has led, created, and/or organized many Christian endeavors that allow her to “love her neighbors”. She launched a Good News Club at her kids’ elementary school, a neighborhood summer kids Bible study, a Moms in Prayer group, and a neighborhood prayer group she coined “The Christian Connection.” She has taught many Bible studies at home and at two different churches. She coordinated a Mothers of Preschoolers Group for a couple years and was a discussion group leader for many more. She led a Girl in Action class while her kids were growing up in the First Baptist Church. Currently her family attends a Bible church where she serves on the Prayer Team and in various capacities within the women’s ministry.

Once Covid hit, it was time to sit with the Lord and figure out where she needed to devote her time and energy. That is when He opened the life coaching door for her. With so many people getting accustomed to virtual meetings, it was an easy adjustment to learning to coach via zoom to ladies all over the United States. You can read a little about her story in her blog here.

Katina’s family has been a huge support of her business and career. On the night she received her certification, the four of them went to dinner to celebrate. Katina had been praying about and brainstorming names for her new business and the Lord was leading her to something having to do with song. Fearing that she might be misconstrued as a voice coaching, her oldest lead her away from verses that directly had the word sing in them.

Then her husband asked her what her favorite hymn was and she answered, “Great is Thy Faithfulness” to which he further inquired, “What’s your favorite part of that song?”

She quickly answered, “Morning by morning new mercies I see.”

“That’s it!” He exclaimed. “Morning by Morning!” and the kids both nodded excitedly in agreement. Then my youngest took out a napkin and the two girls drew out the first version of the logo. Later the oldest helped solidify the logo.

That night in December 2020, Morning by Morning Life Coaching was born.

Statement of Faith...

  • We believe the Bible to be the inspired, the only infallible, authoritative Word of God.

  • We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

  • We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory.

  • We believe that for the salvation of lost and sinful people, regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential.

  • We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life.

  • We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; they that are saved unto the resurrection of life and they that are lost unto the resurrection of damnation.

  • We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ.
